RETURN TO HEALTH

JUNE 2016-SEPT 2017. NAVIGATING THE NYC FREELANCE MARKET. I guess I hadn’t fully repaid my karmic debt for super-sizing America—because I found all roads returning to the Health space. But this time, diving full-on into legit Pharma—with a whole new set of rules to learn. Below are some highlights.


THAT’S MSed UP: pitch work for a new MS treatment. This integrated campaign idea was adapted to create both branded and unbranded initiatives.  FYI-- it won the pitch!

Amy Schumer has talked openly about her own father's battle with MS. She has seen first hand just how MSed Up this disease and current treatments can be. She is an ideal influencer to drive awareness of this unbranded effort, rallying the MS patient community around less side-effect laden treatments.


 

MERCK CORPORATE:  I served as creative comms lead on a corporate branding initiative for Merck.  The campaign, "Inventing for Life" was meant to highlight both their amazing history of invention (7 of the top 10 major vaccines, early HIV breakthroughs) as well as their recent and ongoing mission of inventing cures for humankind's biggest health threats (eg. Alzheimer's and Cancer).


THE UNFINISHED PROJECT. The people of Merck talk a lot about the impact that a single life saved can have on others. This generates a massive ripple effect when an entire generation is saved from a once dire disease, going on to impact future generations. To bring this to life, we recommended a program dedicated to extending the future impact of some amazing lives lost to diseases that Merck helped control (HIV) and others that they continue to battle (Cancer, Alzheimers).


 

OSTEOPOROSIS: the ask on this new business pitch? Deliver a big, breakthrough, unbranded awareness campaign idea.
